VFILES JUST REVISITED STEVEN MEISEL’S ‘90s AND IT’S TAKING US ON A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE.
Hello nostalgia, my old friend. It’s no question that VFILES has been well known for crowdsourcing their content and for encouraging youth culture interaction. Most recently, VFILES opened up a contest for their VFILES Runway FW16, recruiting models, photographers, hairdressers, makeup artists, and the like. The great thing is that this brought some great content to VFILES’ online platform. One of our favourites is an entry for the photographer contest, revisiting Steven Meisel’s best portraits from the ‘90s.
Steven Meisel is an American fashion photographer, potentially one of the most prolific over the past three decades. Hailing from and based out of New York City, and a graduate of the Parsons School of Design, he rose to fame via international editions of VOGUE magazine. He’s also known to be a close friend of Madonna’s, having photographed her controversial book Sex (1992.) The VFILE captures some of Meisel’s prime from the 1990s, and it’s not to be missed.
The VFILES collection is available exclusively at select retailers worldwide, including Colette in Paris, Dover Street Market in London, New York City, Tokyo, and Beijing, and D-mop in Hong Kong.
